Center for Cross-Cultural Communication
Who are we?
As Center for Cross-cultural communication — Kim Foundation with its Turkish abbreviation, since our establishment in 2010, we have been introducing Islam to tourists from all around the world in the historical sites that constitute the heart of our cultural heritage in Istanbul.

These encounters take place through one-on-one conversations and presentations at significant locations such as the Suleymaniye Mosque, largest Ottoman Imperial Mosque and Complex, one of Mimar Sinan's most important works, at our Foundation Center just across from the Library of Hand-Written Manuscripts, at the Beyazıt Mosque, and at the Sinan Erdebili Lodge next to the Hagia Sophia Mosque exit.
Our Story
Our founders participated in a two-week training on "How to introduce Islam in mosques" in 2010. During a similar program they attended abroad, they pondered how they could implement such a program in our country visited by millions of tourists every year. Thus, our adventure started in the Suleymaniye Mosque, one of the most tourist-dense mosques in Istanbul. Engaging conversations touched the lives of thousands of people over the course of 13 years.

Through our ongoing activities centered around the Suleymaniye, some of our visitors have overcome their prejudices about Islam, some have started researching about Islam, and others have found peace in Islam through these conversations.

After more than a decade, we have many dedicated volunteers who share the same vision with us. While the majority of our volunteers are university students, we have volunteers from a wide range of age groups from 15 to 75 who are eager to convey the message of Islam from heart to heart.
